Wide receiver Ramses Barden’s first four years with the Giants weren’t particularly impressive and the team has decided not give him a fifth year.

Multiple reports have Barden on the list of players that will be cut as the team makes its way to 53 players. Barden was a free agent this offseason before returning to the Giants on a one-year deal. Barden had 29 catches for the Giants after they made him a third round pick in the 2009 draft.

Safety Tyler Sash has also tweeted out word of his release, which comes a few days after he suffered a concussion against the Jets. Sash was a sixth-round pick in 2011 and was competing with 2013 fifth-rounder Cooper Taylor for a spot on the roster behind Antrel Rolle and Ryan Mundy. The Giants could look for a veteran to shore up the position in the next few days.

Defensive end Matt Broha, safety David Caldwell, guard Stephen Goodin, cornerback Charles James and tackle Matt McCants have also been cut. Safety Will Hill will serve a four-game suspension to start the year, which will clear up another roster spot for the Giants.
