The Buccaneers have been awarded ex-Texans defensive tackle Chris Jones and ex-Eagles wide receiver Russell Shepard on waivers, the club said Sunday.

The 23-year-old Jones was a sixth-round pick of Houston in April. He had three tackles and a half-sack in the Texans’ preseason finale vs. Dallas. Houston waived Jones on Saturday.

Shepard, an undrafted free agent from LSU, was also waived on Saturday. He caught three passes for 42 yards in the preseason for Philadelphia.

With Jones and Shepard arriving, the Buccaneers parted ways with wide receiver Tiquan Underwood and linebacker Najee Goode.

The Buccaneers also disclosed they had signed cornerback Deveron Carr, offensive lineman Jace Daniels, linebacker Ka’lial Glaud, defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo, tight end Danny Noble, wide receiver Chris Owusu and offensive tackle Mike Remmers to their practice squad. All seven players were waived by the Bucs on Saturday.
