Kyle Bosworth heads to Dallas

The Giants travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys next Sunday, but a player who was with the team until Saturday’s cuts will beat them there by a week.

The Cowboys announced that they have claimed linebacker Kyle Bosworth off of waivers from the Giants. Bosworth, who is the nephew of 1980s college football icon and NFL disappointment Brian Bosworth, was a somewhat surprising cut by the Giants after it seemed like he had carved out a niche for himself as a special teamer and backup linebacker this summer. He played 25 games for the Jaguars over the last two seasons.

In the unlikely event Tom Coughlin decided to let Bosworth in on the entire game plan for next weekend, the Giants will have some changes to make. Bosworth takes the roster spot that opened up when defensive lineman Sean Lissemore was dealt to the Chargers.

Quarterback Alex Tanney, safety Jakar Hamilton, linebacker Cameron Lawrence, guard Ray Dominguez, defensive end Jason Vega, cornerback Micah Pellerin, wide receiver Danny Coale and wide receiver Tim Benford were signed to the practice squad.
