Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins is ready to play.

Hopkins, the rookie who suffered a concussion in the preseason, has passed all the tests as part of the NFL’s concussion protocol and is ready to go for the Monday opener against the Chargers, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

As the Texans’ first-round draft pick, Hopkins is expected to play an important role in the passing game opposite Andre Johnson. Hopkins was drawing rave reviews for his work in training camp, and he played very well in the preseason before suffering a concussion in the second game. He’s been sidelined since.

But now he’s back, and he’ll be in the starting lineup on Monday night.
