One of the first signs that things might not wind up going the Ravens’ way on Thursday night came in the second quarter when Jacoby Jones was wiped out by teammate Brynden Trawick while trying to field a punt.

Jones immediately went to the locker room, walking gingerly and favoring his right knee all the while. He didn’t return to the game and said after it was over that he didn’t know how bad the injury was or how long he might be out of the lineup. Jones will be heading for an MRI to assess the damage, which the receiver-thin Ravens have to hope isn’t significant.

Jones wasn’t the only Ravens player knocked out of the game on Thursday. Right tackle Michael Oher didn’t return after spraining his ankle in the first half, leaving rookie Rick Wagner to man the post in his first NFL game. Oher wasn’t in a walking boot or on crutches after the game, but wasn’t sure that meant all would be well in time for Week Two.

“I don’t know. I got to find out,” Oher said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.

The Ravens have some extra time to heal up for their next game and we’ll find out soon enough whether that will be sufficient for Jones and Oher to recover.
