Pats downgrade Dobson to out

Dobson

The New England new-look receiving corps will be missing a key piece on Sunday at Buffalo.

The Patriots have downgraded rookie receiver Aaron Dobson to out. The second-round pick previously had been listed as questionable, with a hamstring injury.

The other three Patriots who had been listed as 50-50 propositions to play also have been dropped to zero: running back Brandon Bolden (knee), defensive back Nate Ebner (ankle), and defensive back Duron Harmon (hamstring).

Tight end Rob Gronkowski, who had been listed as doubtful as he recovers from back surgery, also has officially been scratched.

Dobson’s injury means that undrafted rookie Kenbrell Thompkins will be getting more opportunities in his first career game. Ditto for undrafted tight end Zach Sudfeld, who moves up to No. 2 behind Michael Hoomanawanui.
