The Jets aren’t willing to say wide receiver Jeremy Kerley won’t play Thursday against the Patriots.

But they signed a replacement for a guy who didn’t practice, just in case.

According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, Jets coach Rex Ryan wouldn’t rule Kerley out after taking a shot to the head Sunday, and complaining of concussion symptoms Monday.

But Ryan’s hedging seems like a bit of a formality, since they signed cover at the position. They brought back wide receiver Ben Obomanu, who was part of the team’s final cuts just over a week ago.

They released linebacker Scott Solomon to make room for the extra wideout.
