Dunta Robinson will miss Sunday’s game

AP

Officially, Chiefs cornerback Dunta Robinson is listed as questionable on the injury report due to a personal absence.  Unofficially, Robinson won’t play against the Cowboys.

PFT has confirmed, via a league source, that Robinson will not be available for the Week Two game against Dallas.

Ed Werder of ESPN, who reported that Robinson is likely to miss the game, says that Robinson’s cousin was struck by a car.  Robinson’s cousin remains unconscious and in an intensive care unit.

Brandon Flowers and Sean Smith are the starters, but Robinson covers the man in the slot.  Without him, someone else will have to step up and cover Miles Austin.

The other cornerbacks on the roster are Marcus Cooper and Ron Parker.

  2. nobody cares who the chargers beat. maybe you should do a hilarious list of blown leads and late season collapses they have over the last 10 years. you can start with the monday night game against houston.

  3. This will be a great game. Two teams trying to establish themselves as legitimate contenders. Alex Smith won’t turn the ball over like Eli did though. On the other hand, the Chiefs offense probably isn’t as explosive as the Giants. I can really see this game going either way.

  4. So Marcus Cooper is going to play because Robinson is out. Cooper is a 7th round pick by the 49ers. I’m glad the Chiefs didn’t go after Darryl Morris…the CB with better upside.

  5. Chargers are the only team in their division to never win a Super Bowl. Fans like the idiot up above have to resort to bragging about wins during a ten year period that resulted in zero championships. Kinda sad and pathetic franchise and fan base…

  6. aside from the CB depth, they also have some solid safety depth in demps and abdullah. kendrick lewis was all over the field last week, too. the cowboys will make some plays, but even without robinson the chiefs will get stops when they need them.
