The Packers are in range of having a player exceed 100 yards rushing in a regular-season game for the first time in almost three years.
It took only 13 carries and less than three quarters for Green Bay’s James Starks to break the 100-yard barrier on Sunday against Washington. He eclipsed 100 yards on a 32-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to give Green Bay a 38-7 lead in a game it has controlled since early in the contest.
Starks has received the work in the Green Bay backfield since Eddie Lacy departed with a concussion suffered in the first quarter.
SInce Washington-Green Bay isn’t quite in the books, Starks’ 100-yard day isn’t yet official. But it appears he will break a streak of 44 regular-season games for Green Bay without a 100-yard rusher.
Brandon Jackson was the last Packers back to rush for 100 yards or more in a regular-season game, racking up 115 yards on 10 carries at Washington on October 10, 2010.
