Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden has a thumb injury. The X-rays were negative. The MRI may not be.
That’s the next step in the process: Weeden will get a closer look taken at the thumb.
The team has confirmed that the MRI will happen. As best we can tell, Chris Mortensen of ESPN was the first to report an MRI is coming.
Depending on the outcome, Weeden may not be available for Week Three at Minnesota.
As coach Rob Chudzinski has said, it’s unclear whether the replacement would be Jason Campbell or Brian Hoyer.
