Okung likely out this week

Okung

Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung has turf toe, a sprain of the ligaments in his big toe. The bad news is the injury likely will keep Okung from facing the Jaguars on Sunday.

The good news is the Seahawks are facing the Jaguars on Sunday.

Coach Pete Carroll called the sprain “significant” on Monday, and he addressed whether Okung will be able to play.

I don’t think that’s possible,” Carroll said, via Terry Blount of ESPN.com. “We’ll wait and see. There are some options that we’ll deal with to try to figure it out. We need to wait and see. It’s a spectrum of options.”

On Sunday night, left guard Paul McQuistan slid to left tackle, and James Carpenter stepped in at guard. The Seahawks have two rookie tackles who were inactive on Sunday night against the 49ers.
