Patriots special teams star Matthew Slater breaks wrist

The Patriots are having such a hard time keeping wide receivers on the field, that even guys who don’t play much offense are falling victim to the curse.

Special teams captain Matthew Slater suffered a broken wrist, adding to a long list of aches and pains for the Patriots.

According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, Slater is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Slater doesn’t play much offense, with no snaps Thursday night, but is a staple in the kicking game. A two-time Pro Bowler on special teams, his role will be hard to fill, as hard as finding acceptable targets for Tom Brady has been.
