Brandon Flowers questionable for matchup with Eagles

The Chiefs are headed to Philadelphia for a date with the Eagles on Thursday night and they’re not sure whether their top cornerback will be able to help them try to win it.

Brandon Flowers is listed as questionable on the injury report for the game after limited participation in practice this week because of a knee injury. Stopping the Eagles offense will be difficult enough with all hands on deck, so losing Flowers would be a pretty big blow to the Chiefs’ defensive plans. If he is out, Sean Smith would likely get the call to shadow DeSean Jackson.

Tight end Anthony Fasano is unlikely to play after being listed as doubtful with an ankle injury. One of his potential replacements, Travis Kelce, is listed as questionable. If both can’t go, they’ll be down to Sean McGrath and Kevin Brock at tight end.

Tackle Branden Albert and defensive end Mike DeVito both participated fully in practice and are probable to play.

  1. People need to wake up and stop realizing
Flowers is NOT the Chiefs best CB. Sean Smith is. If Dez didn’t prove that look back at last 2 years tape and see him getting burned time after time by stud WR’s.

Still wiping of the skid marks Dez put on him!

You know the Cowboys lost that game, right?

  3. dez had 93 of his yards on two plays in the first quarter, one of which wasn’t even a catch. flowers stuck with him in man coverage for the rest of the game, allowing the chiefs to send heavier and more frequent blitzes, and making him a non-factor for the remaining three quarters.

  4. All great corners get burned some in one on one coverage against great wide outs but you know the corner is great when they leave him out there one on one against a great wide out. KC left Flowers out there alone so they could dedicate the rest of the secondary to shut down Austin and Witten……..and it worked.

  5. no. in second half chiefs put a safety over the top of dez. flowers needed the help. they only threw 9 routes mostly. hardly anything short to dez. but that said flowers was about a half step behind him on each play. which is not bad considering the illegal contact and holding rules

didn’t happen. watch the all 22. there may have been a safety over top on a couple of plays when the chiefs were disguising coverage, but for the most part flowers was with dez on an island.

  7. And the rest of the Cowboys offense did what?

I will take the win and one opposing WR having a good game over a loss anyday. Isn’t that right Trollonto?

  8. I guess Dez should have shown up when it matters….maybe Dallas would have won the game.
I guess Dez had a nice fantasy game though… congrats on that! I’d rather have that W the Chiefs put up.

  9. Joetoronto, why don’t you get a life. Seeing you troll every chief article with your ignorant comments is getting old. You, filthymcnasty, and logicalvoicesays should all get together sometime since its clear all of you need a life and someone to talk to.

As far as the article, I hope Flowers can play, because they will need him. It’ll be interesting to see how fast the eagles can (or can’t) run that high pace offense on a short week.
