The Chargers got a real boost to their defense Wednesday, as linebacker Manti Te’o returned to the practice field.
According to Michael Gehlken on U-T San Diego, Te’o hadn’t worked with teammates since an Aug. 8 foot injury, but they expected him back today.
The early returns on the second-round pick were good, but his lack of preseason action will be something he has to overcome.
Bront Bird started the opener and Reggie Walker last week, but putting Te’o next to Donald Butler inside could potentially give the Chargers a solid interior.
But Butler isn’t practicing today, with an undisclosed injury from the Eagles game.
