To cap off a long and frustrating week of injury news, the Falcons will be without their left tackle this week.

According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Sam Baker will miss Sunday’s game against the Dolphins because of knee and foot problems. He’ll be replaced by right tackle Lamar Holmes, which likely clears a spot for veteran Jeremy Trueblood, who has had a couple weeks to learn his way around.

That’s not the best news in the world against a team with as much pass-rush talent as the Dolphins, but it’s not the worst news the Falcons have had this week.

The Falcons already knew running back Steven Jackson wouldn’t play this week, after they put linebacker Sean Weatherspoon on IR/designated for return, along with fullback Brady Ewing and defensive end Kroy Biermann on the season-ending version.
