Rice, Taylor not fined for their in-game exchange of pleasantries

Rice

On Sunday, Ravens running back Ray Rice apparently spit in the face of Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor. Taylor actually responded with a blow to the head of Rice.

Neither have been fined.

For Rice, the absence of evidence of the spittle could have saved him. For Taylor, it’s clear that there was contact to the head.

So why wasn’t Taylor fined? It could be that the league believed, but couldn’t prove, that Rice did indeed spit, justifying the reaction from Taylor, who insisted there was spit.

Either way, neither guy will have any of his pay diverted to the Human Fund.
