Earlier this week, MDS pointed out that some of former NFL All-Pro Brian Holloway’s rowdy non-friends came over to his house and trashed it.
So Holloway, a three-time Pro Bowler drafted by the Patriots in 1981, took to social media to identify kids who posted pictures online of their exploits.
Now, Holloway says the parents of the culprits are threatening Holloway with litigation.
“I don’t really understand how they can be upset with me for things their children did,” Holloway told Gothamist.com. “I don’t really understand it. They say, ‘You ruined our kids’ life.’ If my child was breaking into your home and you posted them on the website, posted the material that they posted, I would come there and thank you, and I would have my child be an indentured servant until everything was repaired and cleaned up.”
It apparently won’t work.
“How do you intimidate me?” Holloway said. “I’ve lined up against Lawrence Taylor!” (It would be hilariously ironic if it turned out that Taylor was at the party, too.)
Holloway will continue to push the issue.
“We have names of probably 220 kids so far, we’ll have 300 by this weekend,” Holloway said. “They have so much documented evidence, the only term I can use to describe what is going to happen to these teens is ‘shock-and-awe.’”
That’s a little too strong. He’s entitled to compensation. He’s also entitled to not be sued for trying to get compensation. But no one should go to jail or have their future compromised by a party that got out of control. Using terms like “shock and awe” suggests that’s what Holloway hopes to do.
