Willis isn’t practicing, Davis is for Niners

Vernon

As the San Francisco 49ers prepare to face on a short week a team they couldn’t beat in 2012 after losing a pair of 2013 games by the combined score of 56-10, the injury report has good news, and it has bad news.

The bad news is that linebacker Patrick Willis has yet to practice this week. He has a groin injury.

The good news is that tight end Vernon Davis, who missed the Week Three loss to Indy, has participated this week on a limited basis.

Also limited on Tuesday were running back Frank Gore (knee), receiver Kyle Williams (rib), defensive tackle Justin Smith (shoulder), tackle Anthony Davis (shoulder), linebacker Navorro Bowman (wrist), center Jonathan Goodwin (elbow), defensive tackle Ray McDonald (ankle), guard Mike Iupati (shoulder), and cornerback Carlos Rogers (knee).

Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha also hasn’t practice this week, due to a knee injury. Safety Ray Ventrone (concussion) returned to practice on a limited basis.

The 49ers face the Rams on Thursday night. Last year, the Niners were 0-1-1 against their long-time division rivals.
