Rams lead latest Thursday Night snoozefest

Kaepernick

More and more people are coming to the conclusion that Thursday Night Football is missing a couple of words in the title. Like “not.” And “very.” And “good.”

The latest short-week snoozefest comes from the 49ers and Rams. The home team leads after one quarter, 3-0.

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick continues to look ordinary, completing two of five passes for 11 yards. As NFL Network’s Mike Mayock pointed out, Kaepernick didn’t see a wide-open receiver that was his second read, instead getting sacked by Rams defensive lineman Robert Quinn.

Kaepernick also has no rushing attempts.

Phil Dawson missed a 53-yard field goal on San Francisco’s first drive. Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein shtoinked a 40-yard try off the goal post for a three-pointer.

The Niners can still turn it around. Especially if coach Jim Harbaugh’s halftime speech consists of reading aloud any mean Twitter messages directed to Kaepernick.
