Duane Brown’s toe is “recovering pretty rapidly”

Brown

With the 2-1 Texans rebounding from a thrashing in Baltimore that followed a couple of wins that easily could have gone the other way, the team is starting to feel the heat. Especially with the 3-0 Seahawks coming to town.

"[W]e have a very tough team we’re facing this week,” left tackle Duane Brown said, via the Houston Chronicle. “I think the sense of urgency around here is at an all-time high. We know the position we’re in. We still have a very good football team and I think people need to realize that. I think it’s a good thing that we’ve built up those expectations now, that people expect us to win every game we go out there. We expect the same thing, but it’s the NFL.”

The NFL also includes the reality that a lot of guys will be injured. Brown is one of them, with turf toe. He sounds optimistic about his ability to play on Sunday.

“It’s recovering pretty rapidly right now,” Brown said. “I think a little bit ahead of schedule than we previously though. I’m not too worried about it. I think I’ll be fine.”

Coach Gary Kubiak has said that Brown will be a game-time decision, along with receiver Andre Johnson, who has a bruised shin.
