Rashad Johnson lost part of a finger last week but he doesn’t intend on the injury keeping out of the lineup for the Arizona Cardinals.

Johnson lost the tip of the middle finger on his left hand during last week’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Johnson had to take a trip to the hospital when his finger required surgery to clean and stitch the wound.

But as far as Johnson’s concerned, ‘tis but a flesh wound.

According to Greg Garber of ESPN.com, Johnson says he expects to play for the Cardinals against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“Yes, in my gut, I think I’ll play,” Johnson said.

Johnson said he will defer to the doctors that need to give him clearance in order to see the field Sunday. Johnson has yet to practice this week but did get some work in Thursday to see how his fingered felt with an increased heartbeat. His intention is to practice Friday to make sure he could do everything needed to be effective on Sunday.
