Browns take halftime lead against Bengals

Jordan Cameron

A first-quarter touchdown from quarterback Brian Hoyer to tight end Jordan Cameron and a key fourth-down stop have given the Browns a 7-3 halftime edge against the Bengals in Cleveland.

The Browns’ defense is in the midst of another strong game. With less than five minutes left in the second quarter, Cleveland stopped Bengals running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis for a loss on a 4th-and-1 attempt at the Cleveland 7. Overall, the Browns have outgained the Bengals 224-114 through two quarters.

In some respects, the Bengals are fortunate to be down four points, as Cleveland’s Billy Cundiff has missed a pair of field goals — one wide left, and one wide right.

The Browns are aiming for their second straight victory after an 0-2 start.
