The Packers had a bye last week, which means that we haven’t seen them since they lost 38-34 to the Bengals in Week Three.

When last we left them, you might recall that they were down to one healthy running back after injuries to Eddie Lacy, James Starks and John Kuhn. We haven’t gotten any updates about their condition yet this week, although Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Lacy did practice in some fashion on Monday, but the Packers have made a move to ensure that they have at least two backs in the lineup when they host the Lions on Sunday.

The team announced that they have promoted running back Michael Hill from the practice squad. Hill, an undrafted free agent who played at Missouri Western in college, spent training camp and the preseason with the Chargers, but didn’t make the final cut and wound up signing on the Packers practice squad early this month.

Lacy is recovering from a concussion and Kuhn has a hamstring injury, which led to both men missing the game against the Bengals. Starks exited with a knee injury, leaving the running back job to Johnathan Franklin. Franklin ran well, but his fourth quarter fumble was costly as the Bengals returned it for what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown.
