Last week, the NFC offensive player of the week was Saints tight end Jimmy Graham.

This week, the NFC offensive player of the week is the guy whose passes to Graham put the tight end in position for such honors. Quarterback Drew Brees has been selected for the weekly prize, the 15th time he’s been recognized since joining the Saints in 2006.

Brees had 413 yards and four touchdowns in Monday night’s 38-17 victory against the Dolphins. Brees posted his highest completion percentage of the season by hitting on 30-of-39 passes and he didn’t throw an interception for the first time this season.

The effort continued a strong start to the season for Brees, who has now thrown for at least 300 yards in each of the last nine games. That equals the NFL record for that particular streak, something Brees was probably aware of since it was his record that he tied on Sunday.
