Linebacker Jon Beason is taking a physical with the Giants on Friday and the trade sending him to Jersey from the Panthers will become official if he passes.

That seems like it might be difficult given the litany of injuries Beason has dealt with in the last few years, but the Giants have so many injured players right now that the bar for health might not be all that high. Six players have been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Eagles and cornerback Corey Webster, who has missed the last two games, is doubtful with a groin injury.

Guard Chris Snee is likely headed for season-ending hip surgery and he’ll be out along with center David Baas, who has been sidelined the last couple of weeks by a neck injury. If Webster’s out, he’ll be joined by cornerbacks Aaron Ross and Jayron Hosley. The lack of cornerbacks may necessitate a roster move to bring up Charles James from the practice squad to round out the depth chart.

Defensive tackle Linval Joseph will miss the game with ankle and knee injuries, opening the door to playing time for rookie Jonathan Hankins. Tight end Adrien Robinson remains out with a foot injury and defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins and wide receiver Louis Murphy are both questionable for a very black and blue Big Blue.
