For the third time in a little more than a month, the Patriots have released cornerback Marquice Cole.
Cole, whom the Patriots re-signed just on Tuesday, was let go on Friday, the club said. The club had also released him on Sept. 1 but brought him back the next day.
The Patriots now have two open roster spots in advance of Sunday’s game at Cincinnati.
The 29-year-old Cole played in the Patriots’ first three regular-season games, logging 34 snaps on special teams, according to NFL statistics. A Northwestern product, Cole has played in 57 NFL regular-season games, the last 17 of which have been with the Patriots.
