Big plays in all three phases have given the Raiders a 17-0 halftime lead against the Chargers.
Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor has continued to build on the potential he has shown early this season, completing 13-of-18 passes for 141 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a 44-yarder to Rod Streater on Oakland’s first snap on offense.
The Raiders’ defense did its part, too, stuffing Chargers running back Danny Woodhead on a 4th-and-1 play at the Oakland 1 in the second quarter. The Chargers, who were trailing 14-0, passed on the field goal go for seven, but the Raiders turned them away.
Later, the Raiders’ special teams would make a key contribution, recovering a fumble by the Chargers’ Eddie Royal on a punt. The Raiders would capitalize with a field goal, putting them up 17.
