LeSean McCoy was not hacked, doesn’t back down

Well, it’s not exactly the Algonquin Round Table, but at least LeSean McCoy’s standing by his harsh words.

The Eagles running back posted a message on Twitter Sunday, with a simple and scathing critique of Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno, offering “Knowshon sucks.”

But unlike many athletes who quick-delete something that might get them in trouble and apologize (a route he’s taken in the past), McCoy left it there and was mostly willing to own it Wednesday.

“I don’t want to talk about the past,” McCoy said, via John Gonzalez of CSNPhilly.com. “It is what it is. What I said is what I meant.”

Asked if he regretted the remark, McCoy replied: “No.”

McCoy was grinning when he met with the media, opening his press conference by praising Buccaneers running back Doug Martin, who he’ll see this week.

“I just want to say I think Doug Martin is a heck of a running back,” McCoy began.

When he was asked: “So he doesn’t suck?” McCoy replied: “Nah. He’s one of the better running backs for sure.”

We anxiously await the rest of his studied opinions on fellow NFL backs.
