Raiders cast broad net in search of possible new players

As the Raiders find themselves at a better-than-expected record of 2-3 but still struggling to remain relevant in a division with a pair of 5-0 teams, they’re looking for a few better players.

On Tuesday, the Raiders brought in 13 players for tryouts, per a league source.

They were quarterbacks Pat White, David Carr, and Trent Edwards, running backs Montario Hardesty, Keiland Williams, and Jonathan Grimes, receivers Ramses Barden and LaQuan Williams, tight end Evan Moore, and defensive backs Marcus Burley, Myron Lewis, Curtis Marsh, and Markelle Martin.

As David White of the Fresno Bee reported last night, a new third quarterback could be added after Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, when the Raiders enter their bye week. The Raiders recently cut Matt Flynn.
