When word surfaced this week that Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie had suffered a knee injury in practice, it was a worrisome note for a team that has been surprisingly competitive this season. But it looks like the Jets don’t have much to worry about.
Cromartie is expected to play on Sunday against the Steelers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Although the Jets will wait until after pregame warmups to make it official that Cromartie is active, he has reportedly told teammates that he’ll be good to go.
Cromartie hasn’t been quite the playmaker in the secondary this year that he was last year, when he routinely took on opposing No. 1 receivers and emerged as one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks after the Jets lost Darrelle Revis. But the Jets would miss him if he were gone, and his availability is good news.
