The Patriots promoted defensive tackle Marcus Forston from their practice squad on Saturday, according to the NFL’s Saturday’s transactions.

To make room for Forston, the Patriots waived defensive tackle Andre Neblett.

Forston, 24, has been on the Patriots’ practice squad for the entire regular season. He appeared in one regular-season game in 2012 for New England. He was also the Pats’ roster for the 2012 AFC title game, but he was inactive.

The Patriots had signed the 25-year-old Neblett earlier this week. A fourth-year pro from Clemson, Neblett has appeared in 30 regular-season games, all with Carolina from 2010 through 2012.
