The Jets defense has its top cornerback in the lineup on Sunday as Antonio Cromartie got the green light to play after a knee injury in practice this week.
Things looked good for Cromartie once he was diagnosed with a hyperextended knee following an MRI, but he missed practice on Friday and the Jets held off on making a call on his status until after pregame warmups. With Dee Milliner still out of the lineup with a hamstring injury, Cromartie will be joined by Darrin Walls and Kyle Wilson at cornerback.
Cromartie will be part of a unit trying to stop the Steelers from picking up their first victory of the season. That effort will come with a new left tackle as Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Kelvin Beachum takes over for the inactive Mike Adams. Levi Jones, acquired in a trade with the Cardinals recently, is active but, for now, Beachum is the starter.
