The Patriots pulled a 30-27 victory out of their hats against the Saints on Sunday, but the effort came with a few injuries that could hurt the team moving forward.

Tom Curran of CSN New England reports that linebacker Jerod Mayo left the stadium with his right arm in a sling. Mayo was injured in the fourth quarter when Patriots safety Steve Gregory hit Saints running back Darren Sproles and Mayo while breaking up a pass to Sproles. Mayo left the game after the play, as did Sproles.

The Patriots also lost cornerback Aqib Talib in the second half to a hip injury. PFT has learned that it is a hip flexor injury, but there’s no word on the severity of the injury nor a timetable for Talib’s recovery.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola was also injured for the Patriots. He left the game after taking a shot to the head from Saints safety Rafael Bush at the end of a running play. Amendola appeared to be out before hitting the ground as he made no attempt to break his fall and was almost immediately ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
