Bills quarterback Thad Lewis said after getting X-rays on his sprained foot that he should be fine.

Whether he’s actually fine will hinge on the outcome of an MRI.

Per a league source, X-rays were indeed negative, but Lewis will have an MRI. With all of the various ligaments and other non-bones in the foot that can be injured in a way that would not show up on an X-ray, it’s still too early to exhale.

That could be why they are bringing in Matt Flynn for a look see.

Lewis has become the temporary starter in Buffalo after a knee injury suffered 10 days ago by starter EJ Manuel. The rookie first-rounder is expected to miss up to eight total weeks.
