Schaub channels his inner Van Gundy

Schaub

The frustrations experienced by Texans quarterback Matt Schaub are manifesting themselves in hilarious ways.

During the first half of Sunday’s game against the Rams, the quarterback who reportedly is one gaffe away from being benched capped a play by grabbing the leg of Rams defender William Hayes, who was standing over Schaub.

It drew immediate comparisons in the NBC viewing room to Jeff Van Gundy and Alonzo Mourning. The difference, of course, is that Hayes didn’t take six or seven steps with Schaub clinging to Hayes’ leg.

No flags were thrown. Fines possible could be meted out.

The bigger issue for Schaub and the Texans is that they’re losing by 11 at home to the Rams, even though Schaub has had no miscues.
