The ugliest performance of this Sunday in the NFL belonged to the Houston Texans, who were absolutely dreadful in all three phases of the game, getting destroyed by the Rams.
The flip side is that St. Louis, a team that hasn’t gotten much credit this season, turned in an impressive performance, winning 38-13 and improving to 3-3 on the season.
St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford was calmly efficient, completing 12 of 16 passes for 117 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Also impressive for St. Louis was defensive tackle Michael Brockers, who had two sacks, two quarterback hits and three tackles for loss.
But the story of this game will be that the Texans, who entered the season looking like a playoff team, have totally collapsed. Matt Schaub suffered an ankle injury and was replaced by T.J. Yates to the delight of the fans in Houston, but this team’s problems go deeper than the starting quarterback. The Texans are a mess.
