Branden Albert should be fine for Week Seven

The Chiefs improved to 6-0 against the Raiders on Sunday despite losing left tackle Branden Albert to knee and elbow injuries during the contest.

According to coach Andy Reid, the team should have Albert back as they make a push for their seventh win against the Texans in Week Seven. Reid said Monday that he expects to have Albert in the lineup for that game after the team ruled out any serious injury for the tackle.

“I think he’ll be OK,” Reid said, via the Kansas City Star. “It doesn’t seem too severe.”

Things are a bit less clear for cornerback Brandon Flowers, who missed Sunday’s game with a knee injury that also kept him from playing in Week Four. Reid said Flowers was still dealing with knee inflammation, which could signal another week of limited practices and another game-time decision come Sunday. Tight end Anthony Fasano, who has missed the last three games with knee and ankle injuries, could return to practice on Wednesday. Fasano’s return would sure up a tight end group thinned out by season-ending injuries to Travis Kelce and Tony Moeaki.

  1. Even though I think Tony G should have to live with his decision to chase a ring with “a contender” I say bring him back to KC. We need some offensive help!

Curious, do they make teams that trade/cut players buy the jerseys in circulation? They make the players don’t they?

  2. “Fasano’s return would sure up…” Uhhhh don’t you mean “shore” up? Flowers better heal up fast or he may lose his job to Cooper. Moeaki has played his last game in a Chiefs uniform.

  3. Flowers lose his job to Cooper! Really! I agree, Flowers hasnt played his best ball this year yet but he is the leader of that DB group and if we want a chance of hanging with the Broncos and more importantly a chance at a push deep in the playoffs we need a healthy Brandon Flowers! He can hang with anybody in the league speed for speed where he lacks is his size. Thats why Dez Bryant muscled his way with Flowers and that why they went and got Sean Smith a big physical DB. Loving the way Sean Smith is playing this year. No hate on Cooper, I just gotta see more than 2 games and he did get burned on that TD the Raiders got!
