With just one healthy running back in practice Monday, the Giants realized they needed some reinforcements.
So they’re working out a group of running backs today, in hopes of finding their next Brandon Jacobs.
According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, the Giants will have former Giant D.J. Ware and journeyman Peyton Hillis today, along with undrafted rookie Jeremy Wright, who was in camp with them in May.
They need to add some bodies to be able to get through practice. With Michael Cox as their only healthy back (Jacobs was out with a hamstring, though they think he can play this week), practice reps were not fairly distributed.
Ware last played with the Giants in 2011, and barely made a peep with the Buccaneers last year. Hillis has bounced through four teams, and was cut by the Buccaneers last month.
