The Dolphins must feel like defensive tackle Paul Soliai is back to 100 percent, because they just got rid of 25 percent of their depth chart at the position.

According to Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post, the Dolphins released defensive tackle Marvin Austin Tuesday.

Austin was once a promising prospect, but after sitting out all of his final year at North Carolina on an NCAA suspension and missing his entire rookie season with the Giants with a torn pectoral, that seems like forever ago.

The former second-rounder played eight games for the Giants in 2012, but after two in Miami, they moved on. His release leaves them with just three defensive tackles on the roster (Soliai, Randy Starks and Jared Odrick), though they are carrying two on the practice squad.
