Jake Locker will start for the Titans on Sunday

Locker

If Colin Kaepernick still has a chip on his shoulder about the Titans’ decision to pick Jake Locker, Kaepernick will have a chance to prove that the Titans made a mistake on Sunday.

PFT has confirmed that Locker will indeed start the game against the 49ers. The news was first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. (See, guys? It’s not that hard to give others credit.)

Locker had been cleared for contact on Thursday. On Friday’s edition of Pro Football Talk on NBCSN, Peter King of TheMMQB.com said that Locker could indeed play.

Locker suffered what appeared to be a serious hip injury three weeks ago. Initial reports elsewhere had Locker “likely” headed for injured reserve, with a designation to return.

That would have knocked him out for eight weeks. In the end, he will have missed only two.
