Steelers’ decision to deactivate Curtis Brown catches Ravens’ attention

Brown

Who says the Ravens-Steelers rivalry has lost some luster?

OK, it has. But that’s beside the point for now. A pre-game development has added a little intrigue to the first game of this year’s home-and-home clash between Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Cornerback Curtis Brown has been deactivated by the Steelers. Per a league source, that has immediately caught the attention of the Ravens.

The Ravens regard Brown as Pittsburgh’s best special-teams player. And the Ravens now wonder whether there’s more to the story, given that Brown didn’t appear at all on this week’s injury report.

Among the other inactives is linebacker Jarvis Jones, who suffered a concussion last week against the Jets.
