With at least the Rams and perhaps the Bears in the market for quarterback help today, the Jets have to decide whether to get rid of one.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets have to decide today whether to activate quarterback David Garrard, who has been hanging around with a roster exemption while they decide whether to give him another chance to come back.

If the Jets hang onto Garrard, they’ll have little need for veteran reserve Brady Quinn, who would likely be cut to make room on the 53-man roster.

While Quinn’s not going to make a difference for a team on the field, there are different levels of desperation around the league this morning.
