The immediate aftermath of Sunday’s 30-27 Jets victory over the Patriots was largely devoted to discussions of the personal foul called on Patriots defensive lineman Chris Jones for pushing a teammate from behind while rushing the line on a 56-yard field goal that Jets kicker Nick Folk missed in overtime.

It was the first application of a rule put into place before this season and came replete with confusion about what the rule actually did and did not allow teams to do, which meant there was a lot of focus on the very end of the game and not all that much on the four-plus quarters that came first.

We’ll turn the spotlight onto those parts of the game on Monday’s PFT Live when Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News joins Mike Florio for a conversation about the Jets. Rex Ryan’s team is 4-3, a better record than many anticipated after the first seven weeks of the season, and coming off an afternoon where they kept Tom Brady from completing more than 50 percent of his passes. We’ll talk about that defense, the play of quarterback Geno Smith and what the start might mean for Ryan’s chances of remaining as the team’s coach.
