The Falcons can use all the help they can find at the moment because of injuries, and took a shot at a guy coming off a major one of his own.
The Falcons announced they had signed linebacker Thomas Howard, waiving linebacker Jamar Chaney to create the roster spot.
Howard was playing well for the Bengals when he tore his ACL last September. They worked him out before the start of the regular season, but didn’t sign him.
The 30-year-old linebacker was originally a second-round pick of the Raiders. He’s a solid cover player when he’s well, and for a team as thin as the Falcons at the moment, he’s well worth a shot.
