Vick on being disliked: “I care nothing about that”

Vick

Eagles quarterback Mike Vick recently was named the most disliked player in the NFL. Vick neither dislikes nor likes the designation.

I care nothing about that,” Vick said Tuesday via Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com. “I care nothing about the people who dislike me. I care nothing about the people who still have ill feelings about me. What matters most to me is the people that I do know care about me and that’s something you can never take away from me.

“So, I don’t feed into all that. People are entitled to their own opinions, and I respect it. Just let me do what I do and let me be me. As long as I’ve got my freedom, my health and my family, nothing else matters.”

Vick has the right attitude. He understands people aren’t going to like him, and he doesn’t care. He just keeps doing what he does.

Anyone who does anything in the public eye will always have people who don’t like them. It goes with the territory, and it’s a small price to pay for being, as Vick is, well compensated to do something he loves to do.

So, basically, we like him for not caring about whether people don’t like him.
