Wide receiver Danny Amendola didn’t practice at all last week after suffering a concussion against the Saints in Week Six and was ruled out of last Sunday’s game against the Jets as a result.

It’s too early in the week to know whether or not Amendola will be able to play against the Dolphins in Week Eight, but he’s moving in the right direction. Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that Amendola was in pads and on the field for Patriots practice on Wednesday, which means he’s passed at least that portion of the concussion protocol. The wideout would need further clearance for game action if he hasn’t received it already.

Cornerback Aqib Talib missed the loss to the Jets as well, but was out on the field with his teammates. Howe points out that Talib was not wearing thigh pads, which may be a sign that he hasn’t been cleared for a return to full contact after the hip flexor injury that forced him out of the lineup.

Defensive tackle Tommy Kelly and running back Leon Washington were the only members of the team missing from practice on Wednesday.
