Rams brought in only two quarterbacks for workouts

dt.common.streams.StreamServer.cls

After losing Sam Bradford for the season due to injury, many believed that the Rams would conduct what’s known as a “Gong Show” tryout of quarterbacks.

It made sense, given that the Rams had only Kellen Clemens on the roster.

Per a league source, the Rams ultimately brought in only two quarterbacks for tryouts on Tuesday: Brady Quinn and Tyler Thigpen.

Quinn was signed, along with Austin Davis (or is it Davis Austin?), who had been in camp with the Rams.

Receiver Terrell Sinkfield joined the tryout, for the purposes of catching passes from Quinn and Thigpen.

Tim Tebow and Vince Young weren’t part of the process, as expected. Brett Favre surely wouldn’t have had to go through a tryout, if he were indeed interested in playing.

Those three names could keep coming up if/when (when) quarterbacks keep going down.
