When last we saw Patriots receiver Danny Amendola, he didn’t look very good. Flattened by a legal helmet-to-helmet hit against the Saints, Amendola had an obvious concussion -- and it hardly appeared to be “mild.”
Two weeks later, Amendola has received clearance to play on Sunday against the Dolphins, according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.
Like any player that receives the green light from an independent neurologist, the return of any concussion symptoms before kickoff will get the player shut down.
Unless, of course, the player successfully conceals it from the team.
Amendola has appeared in only three of seven games this season, catching 16 passes for 159 yards and no touchdowns.
In contrast, former Patriots receiver Wes Welker has appeared in seven games, catching 44 passes for 474 yards and eight touchdowns.
