The Packers knew they would be without several regulars well in advance of Sunday night’s game against the Vikings.
Linebacker Clay Matthews and tight end Jermichael Finley never had a chance of playing this week, but there was some hope that linebackers Brad Jones and Nick Perry would be able to play after limited participation in practice this week. Neither player is in the lineup, however.
Perry injured his foot a couple of weeks ago, an injury that was reportedly set to keep him out for a long stretch but the Packers were hopeful he’d make it back this week. Jones is missing his third straight game with a hamstring injury.
As expected, wide receiver James Jones remains out with a knee injury. Tight end Ryan Taylor and cornerback James Nixon are also inactive for Green Bay.
Quarterback Josh Freeman was ruled out for the Vikings because of a concussion. Tight end Rhett Ellison, wide receiver Rodney Smith, running back Matt Asiata, cornerback Shaun Prater, guard Jeff Baca and defensive tackle Chase Baker join him on the inactive list.
