The Bills practiced Wednesday without banged-up starter-of-the-week Thad Lewis, and that has created yet another mystery quarterback situation.

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, both Jeff Tuel and Matt Flynn took snaps with the Bills starters in practice, and they’re not sure if Lewis will be available this week because of sore ribs.

Tuel said coach Doug Marrone told the quarterbacks today that “it could be anybody” in reference to who starts Sunday against the Chiefs.

That might be the most true statement ever, as the Bills continue to await the return of rookie E.J. Manuel, and wonder how they got into this revolving door to begin with.

UPDATE 1:54 P.M. ET: Marrone told reporters that Manuel definitely wouldn’t play this week, and that Lewis was “50-50" to play, which means they’ll probably list him as questionable.
